Restrictive covenants are private contracts that run in ‘Successor In Title’; this means each successive owner of the land shall be either bound (or derives benefit) from the covenant.

A restrictive covenant is a common feature of most properties title and can be used to varying affect. Some of the more common uses of a covenant are to ensure fence and wall building and maintenance, limiting building of further properties, limiting the use of the property or land and the storage of caravans.
